Besides giving an exquisite flavor to food and leaving your tongue on fire, did you know that onions are used for many other natural home remedies and are considered to be anti-inflammatory ? Yeap!, if you actually use onions to cook your food you are offering your body an antioxidant named Quercetin. Antioxidants have been known to prevent diseases such as the infamous "killer" Cancer. I will tell you a secret; if you have a cold, and have a lot of cough; take an onion peel it cut it in half (but not all the way down), and put it next to you on your night stand at night when you go to sleep.
I know, you are probably saying," I don't even like onions on my food why would I put it on my night stand, it stinks!". It works as a natural anti-septic remedy that helps to clear your cough.
